On Friday 21st June Scoil Éanna became the first primary school in the Republic of Ireland to receive School of Sanctuary Accreditation. Over the last few months 5th class have worked hard on completing their portfolio. They in conjunction with the school staff have put policies and procedures in place to make the school a welcoming place for all but especially those who come from a different country or are of a different faith.
Also on Friday one of the girls in 5th class received her prize as a result of designing a bookmark to mark 2019 Bike Week. Thanks to everyone who attended the ceremony especially Cathaoirleach of Monaghan County Council Seamus Coyle, Brenda Clerkin Monaghan Co. Co. Sanctuary County Coordinator, Bernie Bradley Monaghan County Council Inclusion Officer, Jacqueline Sultan, Schools of Sanctuary Committee, coaches of Monaghan Cricket Club , Adrian O Sullivan, Monaghan County Council Road Safety Officer and Lindsay Duffy from Monaghan Sports Partnership.
